Pest control in Lake Las Vegas

Lake Las Vegas is a resort community built around a 320-acre lake on the east side of Henderson, ringed by golf courses, lush landscaping and Mediterranean-style villages. Water and shade in the desert draw ants, roaches and the spiders that hunt them, while the River Mountains on every side keep scorpions and pack rats close.

Water in the desert

Everything that makes Lake Las Vegas green is also what pests want: irrigated lawns, dense plantings, fountains, and a lake that keeps the air a little more humid than the rest of the valley. Ant colonies thrive in the constant moisture, American roaches live in the drainage and irrigation infrastructure, and orb weavers and black widows set up wherever the insects are.

Villas, condos and shared walls

Much of Lake Las Vegas is attached housing: condos and villas around MonteLago Village and on the hillsides, townhomes near the golf courses. Pests travel through shared walls, attic spaces and common landscaping, so treating one unit without looking at what surrounds it rarely holds. We tell you what we see on the shared side so your association can act on it.

The mountains around the lake

Beyond the landscaped areas the terrain is raw desert and rock. Bark scorpions, pack rats and the occasional desert recluse move down the washes into the outer villages, especially on lots that back onto open slope. Homes near the shore see more of the moisture pests; homes on the ridges see more of the desert ones.

Frequently asked questions

Does the lake mean more bugs?

More of some. The moisture and shade support larger ant populations and more spiders than a dry subdivision, and midges off the water draw spiders to lit patios. The lake itself is not where scorpions or rodents come from; those arrive from the surrounding desert.

Can you treat a condo or villa with shared walls?

Yes. We treat your unit and the exterior you control, and we point out anything on the shared side, in common landscaping or in the attic that the association should handle.

Is Lake Las Vegas part of Henderson?

Yes. Lake Las Vegas is within the City of Henderson on its eastern edge, and it is part of our regular service area.

What about mosquitoes or midges?

Mosquito and midge control are not part of our residential service. We focus on the pests that get into and around the home: ants, roaches, spiders, scorpions and rodents.
