Pest control in Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV
Pest control in Summerlin
Summerlin sits on the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley against the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, with natural washes and open-space corridors running between its villages. That setting is a big part of its appeal, and also why scorpions, black widows, and pack rats are a routine part of life there.
Living next to Red Rock
Villages along the western and northern edges of Summerlin, including The Ridges, Reverence, Stonebridge, and parts of The Paseos and The Trails, back directly onto desert and washes. Bark scorpions, desert spiders, and pack rats move along those corridors and settle into block walls and rock landscaping. Interior villages see less of it, but the washes bring the desert well into the community.
Mature villages
Summerlin's older villages, such as The Hills, The Pueblo, and Sun City Summerlin, have had decades to grow mature trees, palms, and hedges. That brings roof rats and the roaches and ants that come with established irrigation, which is a different problem from the desert pests on the edges.
HOA standards and exterior treatment
Summerlin's design standards keep exteriors uniform, and most pest work here is exterior: block walls, wall caps, weep screeds, meter boxes, and the perimeter. We plan treatments around the landscaping and finishes and focus on the hidden voids where pests actually live rather than visible surfaces.

Frequently asked questions
Do you serve Summerlin?
Yes. Summerlin is part of our regular service area, and we serve the entire Las Vegas Valley from our base in Henderson. Call or text with your village and cross streets to schedule.
Why do I see scorpions in Summerlin when my house is new?
Many Summerlin villages were open desert within the last several years. Grading displaces the scorpions that lived there, and new block walls, rock mulch, and fresh stucco give them better shelter than they had before. Homes on the edge of a wash or natural area see the most.
What are the big spiders on my patio in the fall?
Usually orb weavers, which spin large wheel-shaped webs between shrubs and across patios in September and October. They are harmless. Black widows build messy, low, tough webs in corners and crevices and are the ones to watch for.
Do pack rats damage cars?
They can. Pack rats build nests of sticks and debris in engine compartments and chew wiring and hoses, especially in cars parked outside near open desert. If you find a stick nest under the hood, that is a pack rat.
